Jacob Wilson has been a Rockford Police officer since December 2014.

Wilson has primarily worked as a K-9 cop.

On May 30th, 2020, Wilson was assigned to monitor the first protest in Rockford following the murder of George Floyd. Wilson was apart of the “skirmish line” armed with a shield and baton.

On one occasion Wilson repeatedly struck a woman he identified as a “medic” multiple times with his shield. The second strike caused the woman to knocked to the ground.

The medic was not arrested.

In a separate incident Wilson “lunged” and struck a protestor with his riot shield. The protestor was knocked to the ground but not arrested.
